Only a few hours to help save my life!
It's now about 7pm. At 11:50pm voting will end. I really need your vote, but before I tell you why, I'll tell you that I need at least 1500 votes in about 4 hours, so you can skip to the end of this message to VOTE NOW and read the rest of this message later!
WHY I NEED YOUR HELP:
1. The Wakeup Show is one of 3 radio shows (along with the Underground Railroad and CMFam) that raised me to love and expect more from Hip Hop. These 3 were the main shows that I turned to more and more, as other so called Hip Hop stations began going the route of payolla, instead of promoting artists with integrity, skills, and love for inner-city youth.
One of my goals in life is to perform on each of these shows. Fortunately, I already performed on Bobbito's CMFam, which is now off the air. So the Wakeup Show is one of 2 left - and since it's on the other side of the country (CA), it's a very challenging goal. Through this contest, I will achieve this goal
2. Since last month, funding for my non-profit day job ran out, and I am now pursuing this music career full time. This isn't a bad thing, as doing what I love professionally is another one of my biggest goals in life.
As an MC choosing peace, love, and education (instead of sex, drugs, and violence) as my content, I am often overlooked, and also have to turn down a lot of opportunities that my peers accept. Working in schools, and selling my records independently allows me to keep my integrity and creative control, but it is a slow grind. This competition is one of those rare opportunities where I can get paid to rap the way I want, about what I want - my dream come true! If you're reading this you're one of the people who has probably inspired me to achieve my dream this year, no matter what.
3. Since I just found out about this yesterday, I barely had time to setup some equipment and record. The other MCs have been in the contest and getting votes since April (5 Months)!!! That means I need 250 votes to win the category for Pete Rock's beat and 1500 to win the whole think & live my dream! Instead of just emailing 100 people and asking them to email 15 others, I'm emailing 150 of my closest friends so each of you only have to email 10 others. But time is running out! As I write this, there are only a few hours left!!!
If you help me win this, you'll be helping me "save my life", by helping me express my true self, instead of losing and living a life that feels like someone else's. And it won't cost you 1 penny to HELP!

Something amazing happened. I didn't win...YET!
That's right the contest for me to achieve my MAJOR LIFE GOAL of performing on the Wake Up Show did not end. The contest has been extended due to "increased activity" by "new members"! PLEASE do us both a favor right now, by 1. giving yourself some quick practice in achieving a goal (sometimes helping someone else helps you learn faster) and 2. helping me achieve my goal.

Recently, a friend asked what they could do to help, since I only have 39 votes, and I need 1400.
